The Duke of Edinburgh dies at Windsor Castle at the age of 99. The Queen announced the death of her ‘beloved husband’ with ‘Deep Sorrow’ on Friday 9th April.

4TN spoke to Sir John Madejski OBE who paid tribute to HRH a remarkable man who devoted his life to public service.

Sir John Madejski

I think it is a sad loss to the rest of the nation that the Duke of Edinburgh has passed away. He was a formidable person much respected, much loved, and a great consort to Her Majesty the Queen who must be desperately sad at this moment in time as we all are. Prince Philip is irreplaceable and I am sure there are lots of people reflecting on his life of service over many decades. He has brought so much to the Royal family and so much to this country and will be sorely missed.
